The 2025 2YC Community of Practice (CoP) is a cohort of faculty members from two year colleges that are interested in implementing green chemistry content into online courses using active learning modalities.
The 3-month program consists of 3 monthly virtual gatherings (90-120 minutes on Fridays) from September to December. Participants will learn about and practice implementing green chemistry content into courses, using low barrier active learning techniques, and implementing alternative grading methods.
The faculty member participants will receive a $3,000 stipend for attending all three sessions and producing an active learning module to be shared with the broader two-year college faculty community. Participants may also receive $1,000 for travel to a meeting where their work will be highlighted. Typically this would be at conferences hosted by 2YC3 or at the Biennial Conference on Chemical Education (BCCE).
